What is a Cell Group?

“A Cell Group within the church is a voluntary, intentional gathering of three to twelve people regularly meeting together with the shared goal of mutual Christian edification, fellowship, and outreach.”

What is expected?

  • Commit to make attendance at Cell meetings a priority
  • Commit to participate in the activities and discussions
  • Commit to respect the opinions of others
  • Commit to keep group discussions confidential
  • Commit to the care and support of the members of my Cell Group
  • Commit to being accountable to others

The Biblical Mandate:

  • Jesus began His earthly ministry by establishing His cell group, the disciples.
  • Jesus was actively involved in both large and small group ministry contexts.
  • We see that Jesus’ ministry to large groups was preceded by and proceeded out of His small group context.
  • It was the small group that provided the platform for Jesus’ ministry to large groups of people.
  • Jesus spent the majority of His time with His small group of disciples.
  • For Jesus, relationships, not organizations, were his central focus.
  • Jesus used the small gatherings of people to teach and model spiritual knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and to train leaders.
  • His goal was to equip the disciples to carry on the work of the gospel after He returned to the Father.

Please contact a member of the Membership Team if you have questions or would like to be involved in a cell group.
