Ted and Eleanor Vonk volunteered with the RCA Mission Services and served in Niger, West Africa during January and February 2004. Their assignment was to work as educational consultants with the RCA and the Evangelical Church in the Republic of Niger, the EERN, to advance Christian Education in Niger. They visited schools and provided in-service training for teachers and administrators.

They are now engaged in supporting and raising funds to build a Christian School in Zinder, Niger.
