A Contrast in Transportation Styles

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

We talked with the grandchildren about 1:o'clock today which was 7:A.M. Michigan time. We called so that I could talk with them on my birthday. That made the day special! The kids were excited to have a snow day! With the sunny beautiful weather here (92 degree in the shade at 4:P.M.) it is hard for us to imagine the snow and cold. We did not celebrate with cake and ice cream but Ted did get me a silver charm shaped like Africa. It is a treasure, and a nice remembrance of this special time.

We spent the afternoon organizing materials and outlining our plans for class. The classes are held at night from 7 to 9 at the Niamey EERN Church. We are focusing on the book of Luke and then supplementing with material to promote conversational English. We are impressed with the Bible knowledge and level of Biblical understanding the class members demonstrate. After class the couple driving us home stopped to get us bread and bananas, then we went to their house for a cold Coka (Coke) and a short visit. Folks are very hospitable and make us feel welcome and at home.

I hated to miss that snow storm......maybe the end of February there'll be another!
Take care,
Love, Ted and Eleanor
