Saturday - January 24th

You should have seen Ted at breakfast this morning. He was on cloud 9 because he found Kellogg Corn Flakes in the market here in Niamey yesterday. He said they really tasted like home...even with the powered milk! I felt so successful with last night's supper of homemade vegetable soup, I fixed a sort of spaghetti sauce over thin noodles for lunch today; we ate it, but it was pretty bad! The other guest house had limited food available, in this one we are totally on our own. I feel a little like camping at Ludington State Park, or rather being dropped at the State Park with no provisions. We went to the market again this afternoon so we are all set up until Monday when we leave here for another stop.

Ted stepped on the scale this morning and it registered 12. He knew he was much more than 12 kilos, he came to find out it was in stone measurements. He weighs 12 stones. Can you figure his weight?

This morning was spent discussing Christian Education in Niger. There were representatives from several associations and mission groups; this is a complicated issue. Please pray for wisdom and discernment.
This afternoon we went to a wedding at the EERN Church. It was a wonderful experience for us both culturally and spiritually. We can't wait to tell you all about it.

We were able to get on line today again, and we received three short emails. Thanks Susan and Fared, Bill and Maryle, and B.Hendricks. They said the church web site is working well. Thanks Lee and Sonja! We can not access the web site or our USA aol account. We literally have about three minutes to send and receive and no time to surf. But we are so grateful for this powerful link!

The weather remains hot and beautiful, and, we understand, you are all freezing!
We are both feeling great and sleeping well. We are thankful for our health and adaptability.
We feel wrapped in prayer and we thank you for that!

Love, Eleanor
Ted's doing his homework and sends his love, too.
