Thursday, January 22, 2004 We completed our third day with the teachers at Tibiri School conducting teacher training sessions. It was a wonderful experience for us. At the end of our time together we ran a filmstrip on our computer of all the pictures we had taken while we were there. They loved seeing their students, the school setting, and themselves. Then each one invited us to his/her home. It was an enriching experience for us to go to their homes. Late in the afternoon we visited a Christian elementary day school run by the Assemblies of God Mission. The school is only four years old and has neat buildings and a very inviting school atmosphere. It could be a good model of what the EERN might want to do. The school day here is usually 8:A.M. to 12:P.M. then school closes until 3:30, as does everything else (because of the heat). The afternoon session runs from 3:30 - 5:30. RCA missionary Barbara Kapinga invited us for a pancake supper.....the best I-HOP ever, and we appreciated it!! We did not have to cook carrots tonight! We are ready for bed, these have been long active days! Tomorrow we drive to Niamey. Thanks for your continued prayers. T & E |
